A Creative/Art Director and Graphic Designer in Japan
People often say that I succeeded to lead Japan’s creative scenes, but I didn’t just happen to get to here. I believe waves come to each and every one of us equally.
Kashiwa was born in 1965 in Tokyo, Japan. After graduating from high school, he decided to pursue a path of art and decided to attend Department of Graphic Design in Tama University of Arts. And after getting a bachelor degree, he got into Hakuhodo, one of the biggest advertising companies in Japan. And after 11 years, he established his own creative company named “SAMURAI.”
Ever since then, he has been leading Japan’s creative scenes for decades now. He is most known for his ability of communicating and delivering messages through his logo development. Some of his most well-known logos are for UNIQLO, Seven-Eleven, and Rakuten. If you live in Japan, you cannot make it through a day without seeing at least one of these three logos. That’s how big his contribution to the society is.
